Built at the end of the 13th century, the Philippe Le Bel Tower is the only vestige of a fortress built to control the entrance to the bridge connecting the two banks of the Rhone. Panorama of Villeneuve lez Avignon, Avignon and the Rhone Valley.

A true sentry at the entrance of the city, it was built between 1292 and 1307 on the orders of Philippe-Le-Bel also anxious to keep Avignon in respect. Facing her, she controlled access to the Pont d'Avignon until the end of the 17th century. It consists of three floors with beautiful vaulted ogival rooms, in the 15th century, it was added a watchtower. From the top of its imposing summit, one can enjoy an exceptional panorama of the Rhone, Mont Ventoux, Alpilles and Montagnette, with in the foreground the Rhône the Palais des Papes.

A return to the history of heritage: the reconstruction of the Pont d'Avignon in 3D

Bearer of legends and tourist emblem of Avignon, the bridge Saint-Bénezet was the subject of a long-term research campaign which allows today to restore to the public, its history and its integral aspect in 3D.
Featured bridge visited from all over the world, from a bank, the Philippe Le Bel Tower (Villeneuve les Avignon) to the Other at the Rocher des Doms (Avignon), crossing this river landscape that is "the Rhone", this digital reconstitution allows to restore a true historical identity to the existing heritage by a virtual leap of 400 years in the past ....
