Exhibition "LE TON MONTE " - Valérie Du Chéné
From date 25 March to date 25 May 2022
Valérie du Chéné, visual artist, has been invited to the annual creative residency programme, bringing together the Chartreuse, the Musée Pierre-de-Luxembourg, the Tour Philippe le Bel and the Fort Saint-André.
"The tone rises, amplifies... it never rumbles... it is sketched out in flat tones. Valérie du Chéné propels the bursts of lines, stones and colours into the heart of the heritage sites of Villeneuve Lez Avignon. Her meticulousness takes care to enter in adequacy with the living, the living, sets up a decor whose use turns the glances towards the earth and its generosity. Pictorialities of the sky, of the vegetation; fragility of bodies, of spirits, impregnate the places in multiple layers, organise a circulation. A reading of a project takes shape, little by little, where the pleasure of seeing is combined with the precise constructions produced by colour in movement.
Invited this year for the first time to the Chapelle Saint-Jacques - Centre d'art contemporain in Saint-Gaudens (Haute-Garonne).
Valérie du Chéné lives and works in Coustouge in the Corbières.
She is represented by the Galerie Jean-Paul Barrès in Toulouse.
