The visitor can see over 20 rooms, scenes of historic events, in particular the pope’s private chambers and the frescoes painted by the Italian artist Matteo Giovannetti. The Popes’ Palace also offers the visitor continuous cultural activities throughout the year.

The ticket includes the visit of the Palace of the Popes as well as the histopad which is a touch pad that allows to live  a temporal immersion in the major parts of the monument, entirely re-constituted as they could be in the 14th century.

Each visitor must go to the line for pre-paid tickets and present their Avignon City Pass or Vaucluse Provence.

OPENING HOURS
From February 4 to February 28, 2023: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (last entry 5:00 pm)
From March 1 to November 5, 2023: 9am to 7pm (last entry 6pm)
From November 6, 2023 to December 22, 2023: 10am to 5pm (last entry 4pm)
From December 23, 2023 to December 31, 2023: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (last entry 5:00 pm)

GOOD TO KNOW
- Duration of the visit: about 1h30/2h00
- Ticket to be used strictly on the day and time chosen
- The Pontifical Gardens are not included in this ticket
- Pets are not allowed on the tour (except guide dogs)
- No dragons (histopads)
- Baby carrier available
-Strollers must be left in the locker
-The rooms closed to the visit are the rooms of the cameraman and the notary
-Reservation of a time slot is compulsory, including for free visitors
-Due to a large number of steps, the visit to the monument is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.

or more than thirty years, under the successive direction of the chief architects of the Monuments Historiques Henri Nodet father and son, the Palace was engaged in an extraordinary project which saw it reborn after a century of military occupation.
