Hydroelectric dam at Bollène
You can now come and explore Bollène’s historic hydroelectric power plant on the Rhone river! This masterpiece of industrial architecture was one of the last massive infrastructure projects to be built in post-war France. Commissioned in 1952, it boasts a gigantic turbine hall bathed in light through the geometric lattice of openings in its imposing Art Deco facade. Both are listed as Historic Monuments and can be visited during the newly launched 2-hour tour. - Practical info: VERY IMPORTANT: Visitors must reserve in advance: 0033(0)4 90 15 99 65 - Opening days and hours: from 10 am to 6 pm, every day, depending on availability, from 1 April to 31 October - Wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes, such as trainers/sneakers (mandatory).

Visitors will be able to understand how electricity is produced and get closer to the wind turbines and the photovoltaic power station. The program of the visit includes an outdoor course with a unique view of the floodway, the wind farm, the photovoltaic park and a path at the edge of the lock with monumental archway gates.
